Kek Lapis -1st Try


Actually dah lama nak try buat kek lapis nih, since lepas raya tahun lepas sebab teruja sgt tgk kek2 kat blog kenkawan MYR nih. cuma nak kena tunggu waktu yang sesuai dan tahap kerajinan yang melampau :). perkara yang uppermost bila nak start buat kek nih, is that it will take a long time as opposed to baking the usual cake. SO one fine day during Chinese new Year Holiday, I finally started on this project. Bahan2 semua dah lama ader, mixer pun pakai jer lah mixer kenwood yang comel tuh, kesian dier bekerja keras nak pukul telur 7 biji sampai kembang penuh mangkuk mixer, sib baik tak tumpah. For the clloring I just put two, green and original colour ( sebab takut letak banyak2 kaler tak jadi nanti rugi plak !).

Resepi nih ambik dari Myr resepi maya_zakry, original cake letak prune ( i subs with kismis instead), then tak letak biskut cream crackers sebab tak der hehe so i just tukar dnegan tepung naik sendiri. According to maya's recipe the cake is to be boiled (Kukus), but myself just used my trusted electric oven, (pakai api atas sahaja).

Anyway for a first timer, I think I did quite well kot, pat on the back for myself LOL. Kek nih keras sikit..so next buat nak kena tgk resepi bebetul. Project seterusnyer, mak suruh buat bahulu lapis plak.. nih nak pi skodeng resepi bahulu lapis kat blog kenkawan..so layan lah resepi kat bawah nih eks

Bahan-Bahan
250g butter
1 1/4 cwn gula kastor
7 biji telur
1 sudu esen vanilla
1 paket biscuit cream crackers ( i omit this) or 2 cwn tepung naik sendiri (ayak)
1/2 cawan susu segar (fresh milk)
1/2 cawan susu pekat ( condensed milk)
Colouring (of your choice)
Prune , haw flakes or kismis (whatever works for you , infact)


cara-cara

1. Panaskan oven ke 160 celcius . Griskan loyang 4 persegi.

2. Blend biskut cream crackes hingga lumat . easier if you put the buiscuit in a zipper bag and gives a few whaks with the rolling pin , works really well too.

3. Pukul butter dan gula hingga kembang. masukkan telur sebiji demi sebiji. You definitely have to use the mixer for this. Pastikan adunan naik hingga kembang dan gebu (putih).

4 masukkan esen vanilla dan susu. kacau lagi.

5.masukkan biskut or tepung sedikit demi sedikit. kacau hingga sebati .

6. Bahagikan adunan kepada 2 bahagian dan letak pewarna yang diingini.

7. masukkan 2 senduk adunan -ist layer dan bakar menggunakan api atas sahaja selama lebih kurang 10 minit. Keluarkan , make sure tiada gelembung udara sebelum meletakkan 2 senduk untuk 2nd layer. repeat the process until finish. Untuk the last layer baker selama 10 minit , dan kemudian tukar ke api bawah selama 5 minit.

8. Sejukkan sebelum dikeluarkan dari acuan.

Rich Chocolate Pudding




This recipe was is adapted from Ms. Junjs11 of MYR, yours truely was actually out of cornflour as requested by the recipe, so I added custard flour instead. The result, a somewhat firm pudding (it is supposed to be wobbly and be eaten with spoon) but still delish pudding. Certainly lots of chocolate flavour. I actually went a bit crazy with all the cute containers resembling flowers , stars and such , however, as in the pictures I still prefer this size the best. Kak Jun, thanks for the recipe and I am sharing them here too..

Ingredients
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk powder
1/2 tea spoon salt
4 1/4 cup water
4 table spoon corn flour
1/2 tea spoon vanilla essence
3 table spoon butter
1 pack (abt 10-11 g) jelly powder

1. Combined all the ingredients, except butter into a pot and and simmer under medium heat. Stir slowly until every is melted and comes to a boil.
2.Add in the butter, stir again until about 3 minutes.
3. Pour the mixture into any mould. Refrigerate and ready to serve.

Apam Pisang Coklat



Terjumpa resipi nih dalam buku resipi my sister, since i just love to use bananas in baking i proceed with this recipe. The addition of coklat powder , makes an interesting this to this dish. Sungguh lembut dan wangi bila dah masak.Sedap bila makan panas-panas... you can also baked in a large baking pan then cut into smaller pieces.
Bahan2
2 cawan tepung gandum
2 sudu makan cawan serbuk koko
1 sudu teh soda bikarbonat
1 sudu teh baking powder
½ sudu teh garam

1 cawan pisang emas lecek
1 cawan minyak masak
1 ½ cawan gula perang
2 biji telur (pukul)

Cara :
1) Panaskan kukusan.
2) Masukkan bahan yang telah diayak ke dalam mangkuk.
3) Masukkan bahanbahan
yang tidak diayak ke dalam adunan tadi. Gaul sebati.
4) Masukkan dalam acuan kecil atau loyang.
5) Kukus selama ½ jam atau sehingga masak.

Kuew Teow Kungfu



Teringat dulu selalu makan gak kat shah alam, la nih dah malas nak lepak2 kat shah alam, kat nilai nih takder yang pandai wat cam nih, and ader plak kawan yang teringin nak makan so jumpa plak resepi hanis kat MYR nih, try dan terus menjadi sedap tuh. Resepi nih copy paste dari resipi hanis yer ( mintak halal eks)

Bahan-bahan ( 1 orang )
kueh teow
2 biji telur
lada hitam / lada putih
3 ulas bawng putih
1 bij cili merah (hiris halus)/or cili api
udang (sedang)
sotong (potong bulat)
fish cake
karot
sawi
kobis
1~1setengah sudu besar tepung jagung
1 cawan air
sos tiram secukup rasa

1.Pukultelur bersama garam dan sedikit lada hitam/ putih di dalam gelas. masukkan keuh teow hingga 3/4 gelas.
2.tuang dalam kuali yang dah diletakkan sedikit minyak. ratakan kueh teow supaya menjadi sedikit nipis. Balikkan supaya kedua-dua belah masak. masukkan dalam pinggan dan sedikit melengkung.
[untuk kuah]
1.tumis bawang putih hingga sedikit perang. kemudian masukkan seafood udang.sotong dan fish cake.. tuangkan tepung jagung yang telah dibancuh dengan air dalam kuali. Masukkan sedikit lada hitam, cili padi, sedikit sos tiram, lobak, kobis dan akhir skali sawi.
2.biarkan kuah sedikit pekat kemudian tuangkan ke dalam pinggan berisi kueh teow tadi.

Cucur Udang @Cekodok Udang

Cucur udang nih, kalau bulan puasa salah satu peberete food untuk berbuka, selalu beli kat pasar ramadan bandar baru nilai, tapi lately cucur tuh lebih banyak tepung dan udang semakin mengecik, at times terasa terlebih baking powder (chemical taste). Walhal nak buat cucur udang nih senang jer dan boleh makan seberape banyak yang suka. As for the kuah cicah, I believe ader several version around, ada org gemar makan dgn kuah kacang, ada makan ngan kuah cili letak kacang, whereas I suka kuah cili with extra zing of bawang putih..best wooo.. ambai kan keadaan cucur ku yang senget benget tuh ( takder uniformity langsung kan), nanti dah terrer buat leh upload gambar yang lagi cantik.. when it comes to food my MS. N, doesn't care how it looks as long as it taste good and home cook ( of course with love too)..

Cucur
500g tepung gandum
200g udang basah ( sederhana besar, jgn letak udang galah cukup)
daun kucai
taugeh (optional)
cili merah (hiris halus)
1/2 sudu teh garam
1/2 sudu teh baking powder
serbuk kunyit ( for that beautiful yellowish colour)
air secukupnya

Campurkan semua bahan kecuali udang, bancuhkan dengan air secukupnya. Kira2 cukup pekat nak masukkan dlm senduk . Kacau dan perap seketika, dlm 15 minit jer kot.
Panaskan minyak dalam kuali, agak2 cukup nak cover sebijik cucur tuh. Gunakan senduk gulai(yg 1/2 bulat), dan kaup adunan, bubuh udang diatas (make sure melekat haha, udang kuasyik cicir masa menggoreng), dan goreng hingga kekuningan dan garing.
Angkat dan tos.

Kuah Cili ( yang nih adapt dari junjs11, MY Resipi)
2 sudu besar cili boh
8-10 uluas bawang putih-cincang halus
50g cili sos
garam
gula
1000ml air

Satukan semua bahan, masak atas api hingga pekat. Buat lebih leh simpan dlm fridge jugak.

Convocation at UUM-10th Jan 2008












After more than one year doing my executive diploma in Logistic , finally I graduated on Saturday at UUM, 4th Executuve Diploma Convo. It was a great event, went with 2 of my classmates Sabrin and Raja Azah. Wish I could have posted up the other pictures of receiving the scrool and after convo but those were with my sister , Ateh. Glad that my parents, sisters, and brother and two nieces were there to witness it. Icing on the cake, I came up as top student from the center that I studied at VS Management, and i got the trophy to prove it. Proved that it is never to late to learn or study. Some of teh students came with their family and children too, being a part time classes most of the graduants are working adults, and this make the convo more meaningful and sweeter. Congrats to all!!!

Banana Muffin

Hankering for muffin and somebody suggest to bake banana muffin. I always love baking banana muffin because sweet smell of the bana and vanilla always permeates the house when the muffins are in the oven. This is an excellent recipes in that the texture is light and fluffy and the banana flavour really burst out with each bite.This is my fave recipe for banana muffin so far, if you feel like something different just add the crumb toppings for extra crunchines. Once I also add some choco powder into the mix just for the fun of it. This is great snack for kiddies too. The original recipes taken from ALL RECIPES, and I have sub the amount of white sugar with brown sugar, primarily because brown sugar is less sweeter but more flavourful.Anyhow banana is already sweet with natural fruit sugar.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour *
1 teaspoon baking soda *
1 teaspoon baking powder *
1/2 teaspoon salt * sifted together
5 bananas, mashed - I used pisang berangan
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
Crumb (Optional), I just add some chocolate rice on top
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers.
In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles corse breadcrumb. Sprinkle topping over muffins.
Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.
*Some nutritional info about banana:-It’s a tropical fruit, a large berry, that’s handy and healthy, providing 452 milligrams of potassium, 33 milligrams of magnesium, and just over 2 grams of fiber. Studies have shown that people with high levels of potassium in their diet have a lower incidence of hypertension, even if they don’t watch their salt intake.
The banana shares many benefits of its fruity brethren: It’s low in calories, fat, sodium, and much of its fiber is soluble — the kind that can help lower cholesterol. It stands out, however, because it has lots of potassium and a respectable amount of magnesium. That’s why it’s a favorite fruit of most athletes and often is recommended for people with diarrhea or high blood pressure.
Bananas are also a very good source of vitamin B6, providing one-third of the RDA in a single serving.

Puding Karamel

Adapted resepi nih dari MYR resepi dari ALIA. Thanks for sharing..kita copy paste ajer yer..Beginner's luck. The pudding taste great, will make it again definitely... This recipe can either be boiled or bake ( however if baking , please used a water bath!). Pic is bit on the fuzzy side since this was taken from my faithful NOkia hp..

Bahan-bahan ( saiz:16 cm )
400ml susu segar/susu cair
5 sudu besar gula halus
3 biji telur- pada suhu bilik
2 biji telur kuning-pada suhu bilik
2-3 titik esen vanila
[ KARaMEL ]
6 sudu besar gula
3 sudu besar air
Cara-cara
Sediakan karamel: Masukkan gula ke dalam periuk dengan 1 sudu besar air. Masak di atas api sederhana. Bila nampak sedikit perang, masukkan 1 sudu lagi air. Masaklah sehingga perang. Tuang ke dalam loyang. Ketepikan.
Masukkan telur dan kuning telur ke dalam mangkuk. Sambil dikacau masukkan gula sedikit demi sedikit. Kacau dengan perlahan sehingga sebati. Jangan biarkan berbuih.
Dalam periuk lain masukkan susu dan esen vanila. Panaskan sehingga 60 degree. Jangan sampai mendidih.
Dengan susu yang masih panas lagi, masukkan sikit demi sedikit susu ke dalam telur tadi. Kacau sehingga sebati. Tuang ke dalam loyang yang ada karamel tadi.
Tutupkan loyang dengan 2 lapis aluminium foil. Kukus dengan api sederhana selama 30 minit
Bila dah masak. Jangan buka aluminium foil. Biarkan 5 minit. Kemudian bolehlah dibuka.

my best friend celebrated her 31st birthday recently on 22nd Dec, however th celebration was postponed to last saturday. The small event was held UC club in Taman Shamelin along with few close and not so close friends hahahhaha.... since the birthday gals like karaoke so much, we celebrated at a karaoke place.Among the invitees Baby and Bf, syima and friends, Ajid and gang, Xnama , and not forgetting housemates Aki, Laily and Zet ( kang ada yang merajuk lak)and a few which I am not too familiar...

We brought along some BBQ chicken wings ( they are delish!0, roti john and the birthday cake ( boiled chocoltae cake, home made of course). ushering of another year in life, we should always make the effort to be better than before and not waste the time that Allah has provided for us here on earth. Be thankful and always count your blessing! May this year brings more joy and happiness.... just remember happiness is not only a physical state but also stemed from our soul.

Cream Cheese Topped Chocolate Cake







The story goes that my 2nd sister came home for the weekend and she wanted me to bake cheesecake, whereas I was having a carving for a moist chocolate cake. I was in no mood to bake two cakes since I was tired ( just came back from Cherating the day before) so I came up with this cake to satisfied both. Very yummy.. its like a marbled brownies but ,,i prefer the chocolate cake since its more moist, and it was gone in no time. In the middle of cooking I found out that I have run out of eggs ( usually I kept spare for times like this), fortunately my mother earlier had been collecting "telur ayam kampung" from the chicken coop, so intead of two eggs i add another since the ayam kampung eggs is smaller but the yolk is more yelowish in colour, maybe I should have called this coklat cake vesion telur ayam kampung then?

Chocolate Mixture ( adapted from CMG blog)
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour*
1 cup cocoa powder*
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder*
1 teaspoon soda bicarbonate*
1/2 teaspoon salt*(*combined & sifted)-A
1 3/4 cups caster sugar
3 large eggs
220g butter
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
200 ml evaporated milk/milk*
1 cup hot water*
1 teaspoon instant coffee/ nescafe*(*combined and stir together until mixture formed)-B
Cream Cheese Mixture
250 gm cream cheese
1/4 cup sour cream or can also use whipping cream
1 tsp esen vanila
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 egg
(beat cream cheese, sugar and sour cream till smooth, add in eggs and vanilla)
1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Grease pan and line bottom with baking paper.
2.In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs one at a timeuntil light and fluffy.
3. Fold in mixture A ( flour) in btaches alternately with mixture B ( chocolate). Start and end with flour.
4. Pour mixture into lined pan, topped with cream cheese mixture in patches on top.
5. Baked for 45-50 minutes or until skewer comes out clean when inserted into middle of the cake.

7.I am not a very good driver especially at nights ( due to my high astigmatism), I loved being driven around too.. anybody volunteer to be my driver eh??

Tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yours. -(aiyoo why so many!)

1.I know if this is a quirk in character, but i love to read fiction novels especially adventure and action ones, at times I bought 2-3 books at a time. Fave author of the moment is James Rollins .

2.I like to go out alone at times , find a good eating place to chill out and read my fave paperback, good place for me to chill out this way is at Secret Recipe or any comfy kopitiam with a cuppa .

3.Like to talk to my cats..huhuhu especially my three rambuctious Darlings Manja, Roy and Demuk, there are very good housesitter if I am not around.

4. I bake when I feel stressed out, and the lucky recipients of these activity will be my officemates, my parents are not much of cakes or dessert eaters. Lucky them.

5.I love martial arts and am a member of Persatuan Silat Seni Gayung Malaysia, however of late I am not much into practicing and training hahah, much to the dismay of my instructor at PLKU, however I sometimes join in the activities at the club center in Kajang.

6. When I am cooking, I dont like other people to help me unnesscery unless I specifically asked for help ( syok sendiri hahaah).
