Of late i have being immersing myself in the world of gardening. Well not specific to vegetable but variety of plants inclusive of flowers, fruit trees and vegetable that are commonly used in the kitchen.<br />

These lovely heavenly scented flower is known as Kula Gardenia or Golden Gardenia. The flowers will changed colour in stages as it matured. The bloom will start as white then turn to yellow and laat will changed to orange.<br />
<br />
Mine is planted in pot and plant is originaly bought from Exotic Matahari Nursery in Kuantan (my favorite place to get plants and gardening needs). Currently the plant has tree main branches which bears flowers. I noticed that some of leaves are bigger in porpotion to the rest. Might need to add some more tanah bakar for better improvement of the leaves.<br />

Sehingga sekarang dah tak terkira berapa banyak kucing yang dah pernah dibela. Ada kucing datang, yang dibuang orang, dan terus bermastautin di rumah . Ada juga yang saya terjumpa dan bawa balik( sampai mak saya cakap tak cukup banyak kucing kat rumah dah)😆.<br />

Untuk waktu ini ada 6 kucing dan 4anak kucing yang memeriahkan rumah mak. Kesayangan dan kemanjaan saya ialah seekor kucing jantan baka kampung yang bernama PEAH. Ya..peah. kenapa peah? Sebab masa dia kecil tak tahu jantan ke betina letak je peah. Dan nama tu kekal hingga sekarang.<br />

PEAH nih kadang-kadang mengada lebih. Kalau makan tak mau kongsi dengan geng lain. Nak kena jamu dia sorang jek. Adoii. Lepas tuh pantang tengok tuan dier ngadap laptop mesti nak buat aksi tidur atas keyboard tuh. Apa pun he is my baby.<br />

I went to the pasar minggu in pelan salak and came across one stall that sell lontong and nasi lemak. And they were alao selling prepacked rencah kuah pecal ingredients. Its rm10 for a 500g pack. Well good enough for me. Unfortunately that was the only time that i managed to find the pecal. Now i resorted to ordering online from my high school junior ms. Lily Ramlee. Not only she sold prepared kuah pecal ingredients also other favorite like sambal ikan bilis hitam and sambal tempe.<br />

Back to the story of my pecal luckily the market aold among others the ever perennial tempe (i love this), the must have taugeh and tauhu putih and bought few cucumbers. Once home its time to forage in the backyard and around the house. First i pluck some long beans (kacang panjang) from the small garden i have in front. Just a few plants but they provided endless supply of kacang panjang for the whole family. The 4 plants managed to provide for close to 2 months before they need to be replanted. Then of course plucking the alltime fave pucuk ubi which of course, is abundant at my house.<br />
To prepare rinse all the veggies . Boil some water with salt to boil the veggies. Do not boil to long just a few minutes will do. You need to have the crunchiness and the green colour intact for this dish. The pucuk ubi and kacang panjang. The taugeh you can served it raw but i prefer to boil juat a few seconds. Fry the tauhu and tempe until brown and crispy on the outside. For thw tempe i prefer to coat them with tumeric powder a bit of black pepper and some salt just to have the extra kick once they are assembled into the pecal. For the pecal gravy, i used half of the pack and pour hot water while stirring them over low heat. It will take a few minutes of stirring before you have the thick paste of the above picture. I did not add other ingredients to the gravy sonce it is already so good with an extra zing of heat too.<br />
Once everything are ready served on plate and assembled the ingredients with the pecal gravy just before you want to eat them. <p>Ingredients</p>
<p>2 ripe banana- mashed<br>
11/2 cup plain flour<br>
1 cup castor sugar<br>
3/4 cup butter or margarine<br>
3 eggs (B size)<br>
1/2 raisin (or whatever dried fruits of your choice)<br>
1 teaspoon baking soda<br>
11/2 teaspoon baking powder<br>
vanilla essence to taste<br></p>
<p>sift flour together with baking soda and baking powder and set aside. beat the butter and sugar until creamy; pour the egg one at a time while beating the batter until well combined. optionally you can add the vanilla essence at this point. put in half of the flour into batter and stirred. pour the mashed banana second and stirred again. finished off with the balance of the flour. be sure to dust the raisin with dome flour before adding to the batter so it will not end up at tgr bottom of the cake when baked. You can use whichever baking pan you prefer but for this i have some muffin casing which i used instead. baked into oven that have been preheated at 170 celcius for 15 minutes or uril golden brown. i can assured you that the smell alone is worth bakibg this cake.</p>

Tetiba black out pulak kedai. Terpaksalah cari 2nd option sebab tuan kedai tak nak pelanggan2 berada dalam keadaan tidak selesa untuk makan. Salute attitude macam nih.mementingkan pelanggan dari keuntungan. Jadi gerak ke @grill. Sebenarnya kali ketiga makan kat sini. Kali pertAma masa tuh tengah demam dan selsema cuma order sup cendawan. Kali kedua amik seafood oglio yang aku rasa sangat kena pada tekak. Freshly made pasta with fresh seafood ( mussel, udang, sotong) dan enough heat to pair with the olive drizzled pasta. Masa tuh rasa cam tak cukup jek.<br>
Kali nih pulak sebab selera dah terbantut cuma pesan chicken chop dengan sos cendawan dan kentang goreng. Ayam tuh di grill tapi untuk saya rasa cam kurang masak need a few more minutes on the grill. T<br>
Hidangan lagi satu spagethi marinara. Sedikit kekecewaan dengan hidangan nih kerana saucenyer terasa sedikit manis. Campur tomato sauce maggi dari botol ker? Nasib baik bahan2 adalah segar boleh lah lagi diterima tekak. <br>
Sepatutnye starter yang dipesan tiba awal sebelum hidangan utama..yg nih crispy softshell crab tiba bila dah setengah jalan baru sampai. Ketam nih digoreng salut spicy dan crispy tepung. Not something that i would order again kot tak kena kat tekak tapi kawan saya kata sedap.<br>
Keputusannya kali ini hidangan agak memgecewakan sangat berbeza dari sebelumnyer atau aku yang silap buat pesanan. Hmmmmm.. Untuk 3 hidangan campur air tembikai, iced chocolate dan dua kopi panas adalah $100.</p>

This cake is made using 2 red apples which i intend to turn into apple pie earlier on. Of course some say that the best baking apple is Granny Smith, the crisp and tart variety of apples abudantly found in many shops., however you can just go with whatever types of apples you have in hand. I have 2 big Red Fuji apples and that is what i used in the cake and it works just fine. To add moisture to the cake I incorporated plain yogurt insteda of the usual milk but it all depends on your preferences.<br />

Sift the flour with baking power and baking soda into a bowl. In another bowl cream the butter with brown and castor sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one by one and continue to beat. Add the vanilla extract.</div>

I love cooking with lemon, the tangy flavour works well in cakes and sweet bakes. Nothing beatd the smell of freshly grated lemon peel. The actual recipe calls for lemon glaze to be added to the cake after it has been completely cooled. Since i wanted to bring the cake to office the next day i omit the glaze to avoid the cakr becoming soggy. I havr also posted similar recipe earlier in this blog. Enjoy. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Ingredient<br>
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour<br>
( i used self rising flour instead)<br>
1 teaspoon baking soda<br>
1/4  teaspoon salt<br>
2 cups castor sugar<br>
6 eggs seperated<br>
2 teaspoon grated  lemon peel<br>
1 tablespoon lemon juice extract<br>
1 cup plain yogurt ( i used nestle)</p>
<p dir="ltr"><b>Method</b><br>
Sift the flour into a bowl, add baking soda and salt and stir to blend. In another bowl cream butter anf sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time and the lemon extract beat until thick . blend in the dry ingredients. <br>
Start with the flour mixture and alternate with the yogurt until finished. Beat egg whites until soft peak appear adding  1/2 cup sugar at a time. Fold egg whites into cake batter with spatula slowly until well blended. I used a 10 inch tube pan. Dont forget to greased the inside before pouring the batter. On my electric oven  , i bake at 170 celcius at 40 minutes using the fan function.  Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes begore removing.</p>

I recently went on a trip to Thailand, at first it was just a banter among us on the FB and Whatsapp ( <i><span style="font-size: x-small;">ahh the marvel of modern technology</span></i>) saying that we need a year end trip preferably one which involved diving, a few places were bounces around..at at last we pick Koh Lanta. Truth be told we know nil about this place except for the information gleamed from the WWW. Luckily we have a friend working part time over there during the high season. <span style="font-size: small;">The trip itself took six hoursby bus from puduraya we depart slightly before twelve and arrived at Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint after five ( </span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>ermss I was asleep most of the journey, blame it on fatigue because I was traying to finished as many workload as i am able befor ethe scheduled trip</i></span><span style="font-size: small;">) , immigration at Malaysia / Thai border took about an hour to complete since there are number of buses to be cleared on that Friday morning. So far the transport part to Hadyai went smoothly. however the next leg of the trip was several level short of nightmare ... we were supposed to be picked up by van arranged by an agent directly to Koh lanta. however the van failed to materialized and we were forced to make an ad hoc arrangement by our own. We `asked the person at the Alisan office to find us van to Koh Lanta since the last van will be leaving by two and prior arrangement have to be made. We were charged an exorbitant price of RM&0 for each person whereby the usual price is around 55 thb only, but hey beggars cant be choosers and so we were told to wait until 1 pm for the van to pick us up. Since It was only about 11 am Thailand time we decided to do some window shopping around town. And off we go me and wanie specifically. wan tagged along..pity him :)</span></div>

Which practically lit the sky with burst of colours and sounds that bounce vibrating from building to building. We did savor a little of the street party atmosphere (lot of other malaysian were there too), but for the firework from the safety of our room at the 18th floor.<br />

The fireworks started early in the evening until wee hours of morning. Much different from where I usually usher the new year ,Usually in beb at home. But then I am hoping that year 2013 will bring big and drastic changes in my life. Fingers cross. May this year bring glad tidings to my readers too (are there any left I wonder since it has been eons since I last updated this blog!). It is a cliche to say that I will try to update this blog regularly but that is what I have in mind. hahahhah kalau diingatkan banyak kenangan masa memula ambik kelas ngan UID tuh nak pulak dapat instructor yang garang ( <strong><span style="color: red; font-size: x-small;">hopefully Encik Kamil UID, tak baca blog saya yer</span></strong> )... nak guna equiptment pun tak reti..masa mula-mula nak buat confined water sangat stress giler..siap cakap kat instructor "saya rasa oksigen dari tank nih tak sampai kat dada saya" ...statement yang bodoh.. dan baru tahu yang saya nih jugak mengalami masalah nak equalizing dalam air, sungguh sakit tekanan dalam telinga kuh, masa buat Open water training yang pertama sampai berdarah hidung. tapi mengikut cerita kawan2 saya tuh berkara biasa. Sekarang nih masih ader lagi masalah equalization tuh tapi dah adaer kontrol. Ingat saya nih tak boleh nak panik terlebih atau excited terlebih masa nak turun descent mulalah ader problem. tapi rasanyer dengan lagi banyak pengalaman menyelam makin berkurangan atau saya semakin berpengetahuan untuk mengatasi masalah itu. Insyaallah.<br />

kalau ader rezeki dan ada tersimpan jkugak cita-cita nak menyelam di Sipadan ( every diver's dream gamak nyer). Tapi bukan dalam masa terdekat lah, nak buat Advance dulu cari pengalaman lebih baru lah ke sana. Ada sesiapa nak join saya gi nyelam ..jummmmmmm<br />

Bahan-Bahan<br />
2 biji epal (green or red) - di kupas dan didadu<br />
2 biji epal ( dihiris nipis) + gaul bersama serbuk kayu manis<br />
1 buku butter (250 g)<br />
1 1/2 cawan gula kaster<br />
5 biji telur<br />
2 1/4 cawan tepung naik sendiri<br />
1/2 cawan yogurt perisa asli<br />
2 sudu teh baking soda, di ayak bersama tepung naik sendiri<br />
3 sudu makan gula perang<br />
<br />
Cara-Cara Penyediaan.<br />
1. Epal yang didadu di campurkan dengan sedekit jus lemon dan serbuk kayu manis , gaul dan ketepikan.<br />
2.Epal yang dihiris nipis di gaulkan dengan serbuk kayu manis, lengsenrkan dulang pembakar dengan merjerin dan taburkan gula perang, susun hirisan epal yang dihiris mengiku kreativiti sendiri.<br />
3. Pukul mentega bersama gula sehinggan kembang dan berkrim , Masukkan telur satu persatu dan pukul lagi hinggan sebati. Tuang tepung berselang dengan yogurt tadi dan gaul dengan senduk kayu sahaja, tak perlu dipukul. Akhir sekali masukkan epal yang didadu da kacau perlahan.<br />
4. Tuangkan adunanke dalam acuan loyang yang telah disediakan.<br />
5. Bakar dalam oven yang telah dipanaskan dengan suhu 170 celcius ( sesuaikan ikut oven masing2) . Saya menggunakan oven elektrik, api bawah dan fan. Bakar selama 50 minit atau sehingga masak. Saya menggunakan pencucuk kek bila kek dan mula berbau wangi ( semerbak satu dapur).<br />
6. Bila kek dah masak keluarkan dari oevn sejukkan seketika ( in my case 5 minit jerk) sebelum diterbalikkan diatas redai. This cake actually asted better after it has been left over night, wrapped in alumanium foil. Sangat gebu dan sedap. Selamat mencuba.<br />
